The Brown Thrasher’s diet is primarily insects with some fruits and seeds.
In the Southeast, they nest in thickets, hedgerows, forest edges, and overgrown clearings in deciduous forest. For the western birds, their nests are made in fencerows, shelterbelts, and woody draws. They’re often found in woodland areas as opposed to grassland.
They are found throughout eastern North America and the Southern Midwest, migrating north for the Summer.
